The artists at Spanish Village Art Center invite you to stroll through their 37 historic studios and colorful courtyard to enjoy an afternoon of art! This art village was originally built for the 1935 California Exposition to replicate a quaint village in Spain. Today it is a community of working art studios representing over 250 artists from the San Diego area. These working studios enable visitors to meet the artists, watch them work, purchase direct, or take a class and enjoy the unique Spanish Village atmosphere.
Free admission to 37 working artist studios/galleries open daily.
There are all kinds of artists on site including painters, sculptors, metalsmiths, jewelry designers, clay artists, gourd artists, photographers, printmakers, fiber artists, basket makers, mixed-media artists, glass artists, enamel artists and many more arts. Home to The San Diego Potters' Guild, Art Glass Guild of San Diego, Sculptors Guild, Enamel Guild, Southwestern Artist Association and the San Diego Art in Wood Guild. The colorful courtyard has a variety of artists setup daily with live music on the weekends as well as an onsite glass blowing platform.
Enjoy our many art festivals all year long with holiday celebrations and pictures with Santa for Balboa Park's "December Nights" event the first Friday and Saturday of December. Please visit our website for other coming events, classes and workshops.
