Macy's Museum Month

Arts, entertainment and culture collide for Macy's Museum Month in San Diego. This February the San Diego Museum Council and Macy's have teamed up again for Museum Month, giving patrons a chance to discover what's new at more than 40 area museums with savings only seen once a year.

Participants can pick up a Museum Month Pass at any area Macy's store to enjoy half-off admission to all of the participating museums through the entire month of February.

One of the largest fine art festival in Southern California and San Diego’s premier arts and cultural event, Mission Federal ArtWalk is returning for its 34th year to connect the community and visitors alike to fine artists, interactive art pieces, entertainment and a peek into the city’s arts scene.

On April 28 – April 29, 2018, Mission Federal ArtWalk will transform 17 blocks of Downtown San Diego’s nationally recognized Little Italy neighborhood creating an arts and culture event visitors travel thousands of miles to experience and purchase art from over 350 local, national and international emerging and established artists at the free two-day festival.

The Museum of Making Music's special exhibition “FLOATING STRINGS: The Remarkable Story of the Harp Guitar in America” is on display from October 14, 2017 through April 29, 2018. The exhibition was developed and designed by museum staff along with guest curator, Mr. Gregg Miner—one of the world’s foremost harp guitar scholars, and will include over 40 beautiful examples of this unique instrument. In addition to the stunning display of instrumental craftsmanship, the exhibition also looks at the history of the harp guitar, from its beginnings in Europe to its current status and use in the United States today.
