Liberty Station's Hanukkah Celebration and Menorah

On Sunday, December 22, San Diegans are invited to Liberty Station to celebrate the annual Hanukkah & Menorah Lighting. The holiday festivities, in partnership with Chabad of Downtown San Diegoand Chabad of Pacific Beach, will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and take place in between THE LOT and Rady Children’s Ice Rink. Prepare for a magical night at Liberty Station as guests are welcomed for a family-friendly evening filled with music and other holiday surprises at this special Hanukkah event.

The Hanukkah & Menorah Lighting at Liberty Station is the final event of the neighborhood’s Salute the Season holiday festivities. Following the celebration, visitors may enjoy a night of outdoor ice skating at the Rady Children’s Ice Rink which will stay open until 10 p.m.

The Flower Fields

For more than sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.

Del Mar Racing Season

San Diego horse racing takes place where the "turf meets the surf" at the Del Mar Racetrack. Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Racetrack racing season, mid-July - early-September. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nation's top racehorses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.

Young Art 2021: My World, Our Planet

The Museum’s biennial student exhibition Young Art returns March 26, 2021, as Young Art 2021: My World, Our Planet. The juried exhibition of student art features nearly 100 original works of art created by San Diego County students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade and is complemented by programs and interactive activities bringing the theme of environmental sustainability to life. The Young Art 2021: My World, Our Planet exhibition will be on view at The San Diego Museum of Art March 26–May 9, 2021, and available to view online with select photography of student works of art and a full 360-degree scan of the exhibition.
