Barona Museum Lecture Series Presents:

Michael Wilken-Robertson

Join Barona Cultural Center & Museum for a presentation by anthropologist Michael Wilken-Robertson, whose advocacy and applied research have allowed him to develop lifelong friendships with many Native Baja Californians and to collaborate in cultural revitalization efforts. 

The talk will explore the fascinating world of northern Baja California's original peoples and their descendants, whose profound knowledge of the land has sustained them from ancient times to the present. The author will also share stories from behind his book, Kumeyaay Ethnobotany, with a signing to follow.

On April 25-26, 2020, the Mission Federal ArtWalk will celebrate its 36th annual event in the streets of Little Italy. Featuring more than 300 artists filling 17 square blocks of the iconic urban neighborhood with art, craftsmanship and beautiful goods, this event attracts artists from across the globe. More than just an art event, the festival is a family-friendly opportunity to participate in interactive art installations and features live music and dance performances.

Boarded! Pirate Adventure Performance

Apr 18, 2020

This hilarious interactive show puts visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills. Performances are 90 minutes and check in times are 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Two performances only.

A Little Pirate Costume Contest is planned for children 12 and under, the winner will collect a $20.00 gift certificate to shop at the Museum Gift Shop following the sail.

This popular live pirate performance BOARDED is staged aboard the Museum’s Spanish galleon San Salvador. This is a unique way to spend time on the water and connect with your inner pirate!
