The Spy in the Attic

History Talks! Lecture Series

The next installment of the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton's History Talks! lecture series explores a little-known story of San Diego espionage. On October 18th, GQHF Historian, Sandee Wilhoit, will share her research into a fascinating part of Davis-Horton House history, when a German spy set up operations in the attic. German officer Karl Offer used the attics vantage point to watch and report on the movement of the American Pacific Fleet in San Diego Bay during World War 1! Come learn the story of Karl Offer and the Davis-Horton House's place in espionage history!

He has appeared on numerous TV shows including Mind Of Mencia, Live at Gotham, the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Pitboss. Brad has also performed for the troops all over the world because soldiers think dwarfs are funny too.

Brad was born and raised in Orange County, CA. He dropped out of college and started doing comedy at the age of 19. He toured as Carlos Mencia’s opening act for 5 years. Brad’s big break came when he would appear in numerous sketches on Comedy Central’s Mind Of Mencia TV show.

“He told me, ‘Get out of my office-we shouldn’t be joking here, you should be taking those jokes to the stage,” recalls Navarrete of his Asian American Studies professor Dan Gonzales, the teacher who encouraged his dream to be a comedian in 1989.
