About Part Time Lover
With Part Time Lover HIFI, we want to provide a communal hub that revolves around the broad spectrum of what great music is. Traditionally in our projects, we have very specific ideas about what quality is and what taste is. This is the first time that it has been very important for us to create a space that is not a reflection of any one person’s idea. We are not here to say what good music is. We are about creating a community space that is a reflection of all of these different voices and putting them all together.
About Folk Arts Rare Records
Folk Arts Rare Records was founded in 1967 by the great Lou Curtiss, a tireless champion of American Roots music. Lou organized countless legendary concerts in San Diego, including over 50 music festivals. Curtiss was known for his immense knowledge of music, and customers at Folk Arts included Tom Waits, Horace Silver, and RuPaul. Lou retired in 2014 and Folk Arts was purchased by Brendan Boyle. Over the course of 10 years Boyle has expanded Folk Arts into a wildly eclectic selection of music, housed in visual splendor at 3610 University here in SD. Ever evolving as a destination, Folk Arts is very excited about partnering up with Part Time Lover. They plan to focus their efforts on fostering the discovery and appreciation of International music, Jazz, Ambient, modern underground music, good time Rock ’n Roll and much more. The partnership at PTL is an opportunity to expand Folks Arts’ vision of listening, wonder, curiosity, sharing, and joy.
About In Sheep's Clothing
In Sheep's Clothing is a home for analog music culture. We cultivate discovery and community through active listening experiences, record popups, and music editorial
