SDCDM Roots celebrates the Pacific Islands

Join San Diego Children's Discovery Museum (SDCDM) on for a celebration of the cultures and communities of the Pacific Islands. The afternoon includes storytelling by Literature Comes to Life, Polynesian, Tahitian, and hula dancing performances by Motu Nehenehe Polynesian Dancers, as well as a live ukulele performance and traditional snacks from the Pacific Islands for visitors to sample. Visitors can also experience all of the hands-on exhibits at SDCDM for Free!

In partnership with the Monterey Jazz Festival we are proud to welcome back jazz pianist Chase Morrin. Chase, a San Diego native, was part of the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation program which honors top student musicians from across the globe. Chase graduated from Harvard in 2015, earning a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Neurobiology, and from New England Conservatory (M.M.) in 2016. Chase currently attends the Global Jazz Institute at Berklee College of Music and has garnered many accolades including awards from ASCAP and DownBeat Magazine.

Chase Morrin, composer, arranger and pianist from San Diego, CA, graduated with his M.M. in Jazz Composition from New England Conservatory of Music, Pi Kappa Lambda, in 2016. He graduated from Harvard University in 2015, earning his B.A. in Computer Science.
