Legendary Drag Queens of San Diego

As a part of the groundbreaking exhibition,
LGBTQ+ San Diego: Stories of Struggles + Triumphs, the San Diego History Center will shine the spotlight on the performance art of drag. We invite you to experience Legendary Drag Queens of San Diego and help commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall rebellion–a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history.

Curated by noted LGBTQ+ historian and author Dr. Lillian Faderman, and in collaboration with the Imperial Court de San Diego, the exhibit will feature elaborate, glittering costumes and personal stories of leading drag queens who have made their name not only locally but nationally.

Music At The Maritime, Museum Sunday Concert

Nov 10, 2019

he Hausmann Quartet and Maritime Museum of San Diego are excited to partner to present the fourth season of Haydn Voyages: Music at the Maritime, a quarterly concert series performed aboard one of the Museum’s ten historic world-class vessels, the 1898 steam ferryboat Berkeley that operated for 60 years on San Francisco Bay.

Concerts aboard the Berkeley, a National Historic Landmark docked in downtown San Diego next to Star of India, explore the evolution of the string quartet through the lens of Joseph Haydn’s quartet cycle. The consistently creative and adventurous programs presented in the series combined with the idyllic views and sounds of the harbor make Haydn Voyages one of San Diego’s best-loved young cultural institutions.
