SDMA+ THE SAN DIEGO BALLET

Free after Museum admission. Join the San Diego Ballet for a night of special Art After Hours series of pop-up performances. Dancers will perform a program of duets and ensemble pieces inspired by the pastoral romance and mythological legends featured in the Museum’s exhibition Bouguereau & America.

Admission to the Museum during Art After Hours is only $5 after 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Art After Hours is free for members, Youth 17 & Under, and free for College Students with ID.

These 15 minute performance sets will take place:
5:30 p.m.
6:30 p.m.
7:30 p.m.

Martha Graham Dance Company: The Eve Project

After an absence of nearly three decades, Martha Graham Dance Company returns to La Jolla Music Society to captive audiences with the “most skilled and powerful dancers you can ever hope to see” (The Washington Post). Martha Graham has been a world-leader in the development of contemporary dance since its founding in 1926. Don’t miss this program of iconic masterworks by Martha Graham including Diversion of Angels (1948) and Chronicle (1936) paired with an innovative new work by choreographer Pam Tanowitz, whose recent works have been declared by The New York Times to be, “the greatest creation of dance theater so far this century.”

Barona Museum Lecture Series Presents:

Join Barona Cultural Center & Museum for a presentation by anthropologist Michael Wilken-Robertson, whose advocacy and applied research have allowed him to develop lifelong friendships with many Native Baja Californians and to collaborate in cultural revitalization efforts. 

The talk will explore the fascinating world of northern Baja California's original peoples and their descendants, whose profound knowledge of the land has sustained them from ancient times to the present. The author will also share stories from behind his book, Kumeyaay Ethnobotany, with a signing to follow.
