The Museum’s biennial student exhibition Young Art returns March 26, 2021, as Young Art 2021: My World, Our Planet. The juried exhibition of student art features nearly 100 original works of art created by San Diego County students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade and is complemented by programs and interactive activities bringing the theme of environmental sustainability to life. The Young Art 2021: My World, Our Planet exhibition will be on view at The San Diego Museum of Art March 26–May 9, 2021, and available to view online with select photography of student works of art and a full 360-degree scan of the exhibition.
In addition, and new for 2021, the Young Art exhibition will extend into the community as Young Art Outside the Frame. This new program and partnership between The San Diego Museum of Art, SDG&E, and Mindful Murals translates 25 selections from theYoung Art 2021: My World, Our Planet exhibition to SDG&E utility boxes starting in Balboa Park and running through the Downtown neighborhood of East Village and into Barrio Logan. We encourage the community to see all 25 art installations along the full Young Art Outside the Frame driving/biking tour and experience the art in person.
