The Power of Perspective. In-Person and Virtual Screenings

This October, we’re looking forward to celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the San Diego Intl Film Festival with a hybrid of both virtual and in-person screenings and events. While features, documentaries and shorts will be available on demand in the Festival Virtual Village, we are excited to announce in-person events and screenings at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park, the Catamaran Resort on Mission Bay and the USS Midway!

The Festival celebrates the power of film to create empathy via new perspectives that emerge from powerful and compelling storytelling. The line-up includes film premieres, new studio releases, the best in independent filmmaking, industry panels and live chats with filmmakers from around the world.

Join us at the Center to celebrate Día de los Muertos!

CCAE welcomes the community to celebrate in person the 26th Annual Día de los Muertos celebration. It’s an opportunity to gather together as a community to honor and remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. The Center will stay true to tradition and have altars outside the Museum for anyone to use, available on a first come, first served basis. Dance performances by the Aztec dance group Xinachtli and Tierra Caliente Academy of Arts will perform outside. Craft tables, an outdoor DJ and an artisan craft market will also be part of the festivities. The community participatory altars are based on the original 1995 site-specific art installation conceived and designed by artist Eloy Tarcisio titled Muerte de Todos.
