Catalina Island and its legendary fishing banks and reefs are the destination, and fishing is fast and furious, with large gamefish a plenty, and hundreds of fish per trip the norm. Spring sees warmer water temperatures return to Catalina Island triggering many species of gamefish to become much more aggressive. Live bait is a most popular technique and bait fish are often chummed or thrown into the water to attract fish. Fish can be seen jumping around the ship and boiling on bait fish. This is a very exciting fishing style with non-stop action and it is recommended to bring a good assortment of hooks as there will be some bite-offs on bigger fish.
Davey's Locker Sportfishing offers 3/4 day trips during the spring/summer fishing season to fish Catalina Island daily.
Departing at 7 am returning at 5 pm, this is a very popular fishing trip, yellowtail to 40 pounds, white sea bass, halibut, barracuda, red snapper, tuna, and many more species are caught on these full day trips. Keep your catch and have it cleaned for a nominal fee, or catch and release, it is your choice.
Davey's Locker Sportfishing's fishing ship has state of the art electronics, huge live bait systems, spacious indoor/outdoor seating, and full amenities including a full service snack bar/kitchen. Crew members onboard to assist with anything you might need throughout the fishing trip. Perfect trip for fishing around Catalina Island during the Spring Fishing Season.
Please note this fishing tour departs from Newport Beach which is 1 hour & 15 minutes north of downtown San Diego.
