Little Italy in San Diego

Filled with patio cafés, pubs, galleries, shops and more

Little Italy is a quaint and lively neighborhood filled with patio cafés, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, shops, hotels, and the beautiful Amici Park.

Once home to San Diego's flourishing tuna fishing industry and generations of Italian families who made their living on the sea, Little Italy is a quaint and lively neighborhood filled with patio cafés, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, shops, hotels, historic Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and the beautiful Amici Park.

Restaurants Where the Past Meets the Present

Today, San Diego's most dynamic food and drink scene is centered in this bustling neighborhood that's peppered with quaint cafes, al fresco eateries, craft brew stops, urban wineries, and myriad of restaurants. It's a place where the past meets the present, where Top Chef alums have set up shop and old-school eateries remain as treasured landmarks.

A slew of luminary chefs have gravitated to Kettner Boulevard, giving it the moniker of Celebrity Chef Row with distinctive eateries including Juniper & Ivy, The Crack Shack, and Herb & Wood.

India Street is lined with restaurants featuring cuisines of both Southern and Northern Italy, including Sicilian dishes served with a modern flair at Trattoria Fantastica and sophisticated Italian food with a cozy ambiance at Buon Appetito. Indigo Grill serves modern Latin cuisine while Filippi's Pizza Grotto features an old-fashioned Italian dining experience along with a delicatessen and market, which offers everything from prosciutto to mascarpone. You can also find classic American favorites in Little Italy at spots like Burger Lounge
