San Diego International Auto Show
Where the cars are the stars! The San Diego International Auto Show features the widest variety of new vehicles under one roof.
From intimate to expansive, San Diego’s underground bars and speakeasies serve up top talent on the turntables, in settings that are only one flight below street level and yet far removed from the everyday world. Get ready for subterranean club experiences that are a cut above.
At Café Sevilla, flamenco dancers keep audiences spellbound on Friday and Saturday nights. The crowd moves downstairs to the dance floor, heating things up with spicy salsa moves as the DJ plays Latin disco and hip-hop music.
Where: 353 Fifth Ave. San Diego, CA 92101
Vin de Syrah is part underground urban lounge and part Alice in Wonderland garden party. The wine list is extensive and the selections of whisky, bourbon and beer are vast, paired with a menu of complimentary cheeses and meats. Dance to the music of San Diego's most eclectic DJs or the soothing rhythms of live jazz, or enjoy a beverage in the privacy of a plush booth.

Visitors and guests at The Moxy can delight in a secret, underground speakeasy located within the hotel’s halls. Room 56 can only be accessed through a reservation, a password and a secret entrance disguised as a bookcase. Guests are given instructions to pull a red book off the shelf and then are granted entrance. The bar is an intimate, 24-seat space serving up craft cocktails, but the experience of gaining access to the place is a big part of the fun.
Where: 831 Sixth Ave. San Diego, CA 92101
Step back into the 1920s speakeasy era with a visit to Prohibition. If you can find it, that is! Located on Fifth Avenue between Havana 1920 and The Field, this secret-entrance, password-only club keeps the mood subdued, with soothing live jazz, irresistible cocktails and an upscale attire. House rules even admonish guests to “drink with an open mind” and “use your inside voice.”
Where: 548 Fifth Ave. San Diego, CA 92101
At Onyx, partygoers perch on polished steel bar stools and sip Cadillac margaritas in a futuristic setting. Located directly downstairs, in the Onyx Room, an energetic dance floor and swinging lounge can be found past the speakeasy-style entrance.
Where: 852 Fifth Ave. San Diego, CA 92101
Arrive at F6ix’s modest entrance at F Street and Sixth Avenue and follow the staircase downstairs for the ultimate hip-hop experience. Once you’re below street level, the movement and energy of F6ix comes alive with a spacious dance floor and live DJ, playing the best hip-hop hits from the past and present.
Where: 526 F St. San Diego, CA 92101
This is a one-of-a-kind experience and it's all underground in the Gaslamp Quarter. Trailer Park After Dark is meticulously decorated to replicate an all-American-style trailer park; guests can enjoy sitting at the bar in a shopping cart bar stool, or lounging on artificial turf in a wheelbarrow chair. Or, enjoy an authentic TV dinner on a TV stand while sitting on Grandma's plastic-covered sofa. Open late nights for those after-hours trailer parties.
Where: 835 Fifth Ave., Lower Level San Diego, CA 92101
Barleymash is known as one of the biggest and best venues in the heart of the Gaslamp, but did you know it also has an underground bar? Beneath the expansive sports bar, ginger’s offers patrons a quieter place to relax and imbibe. Perfect for private parties, or events like weekly karaoke, ginger’s is the more chill counterpart to barleymash’s high-octane entertainment.
