San Diego gets into the summer spirit with exciting outdoor offerings and events including the U.S. Open, Father's Day, Pride Month, and some HOME*GROWN*FUN.

Kick off Summer at the Beach

You'll have plenty of fun at San Diego's 33 distinct beaches. Start the day with an invigorating kayak tour or paddleboard lesson at family friendly La Jolla Shores. Hang 10 with local surfers at Pacific Beach or Swami's Beach in Encinitas which inspired the hit song "Surfin' USA" by the Beach Boys. Head to Coronado Beach for beach volleyball, sandcastle building and relaxing in the sun. It was rated one of "America's Top 10 Beaches" in 2020 by Dr. Beach, one of the world's foremost beach experts. If you're bringing Fido, romp around Dog Beach in Ocean Beach where dogs can play 24/7 throughout the year.

View exciting golf action during the 2021 U.S. Open played June 17-20 at the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla. Torrey Pines boasts a proud history of hosting professional golf including the dramatic 2008 U.S. Open. Watch golf's greatest like Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, and Jordan Spieth compete in this annual golf championship. You can also hit the links on 72 outstanding courses located throughout San Diego. Have Fun at the Attractions

Take your friends and family to the two newest habitats at the San Diego Zoo opening June 1. See magnificent giant Komodo dragons up close and learn more about the unique species at the Komodo Kingdom. Get in a Fair Spirit

Enjoy some HOME*GROWN*FUN, presented by the San Diego County Fair during June 11 - July 4 at the beautiful Del Mar Fairgrounds in oceanfront Del Mar. Smaller in scale than the annual county fair and limited in attendance, you'll still get a taste of past fair favorites including a Ferris wheel and carousel, agricultural-themed exhibits, outlandish food concessionaires, demonstrations, contests, and more. Celebrate San Diego's wonderful food and agriculture, arts and talent, business and innovation, and community spirit at this fun family event. HOME*GROWN*FUN is open 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
