This two-hour, hands-on volunteer shift might include gleaning fresh produce, packing boxes of food, or sorting through food that has been donated. Volunteer shifts at Feeding San Diego Sorrento...
Feeding San Diego is a non-profit organization on a mission to end hunger through food rescue. Established in 2007, Feeding San Diego is the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County and the only Feeding America affiliate in the region. Last year, our organization provided more than 35 million meals to children, families, seniors, college students, military families, and veterans in partnership with a network of 370 local non-profits, faith-based organizations, schools, and meal programs. More than 70 percent of the food provided to the community was rescued from local and national food donors. By diverting high-quality food from the landfill and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Feeding San Diego protects people and the planet.
