San Diego horse racing takes place where the "turf meets the surf" at the Del Mar Racetrack. Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Racetrack racing season, mid-July - early-September. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nation's top racehorses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.

Join us at SeaWorld San Diego to see Bow Wow and Soulja Boy, two chart-topping rap sensations boasting a collection of iconic hit singles. Soulja Boy, clinched the number 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 with his timeless track "Crank That (Soulja Boy)". Meanwhile, Bow Wow, has captivated audiences with unforgettable hits like "Like You (feat. Ciara)", "Let Me Hold You (feat. Omarion)", and "Shortie Like Mine (Feat. Chris Brown)".

Janáček’s “Kreutzer Sonata” Quartet, inspired by Tolstoy’s tale of jealousy and marital discord set against the backdrop of Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata, pairs with Composer-in-Residence Thomas Adès. Adès performs his evocative The Tempest suite alongside these deeply passionate works.

This special program is offered by the Maritime Museum Education Department Saturdays, June 15, July 27, and August 10, 2024. We invite Scouts BSA youth to enroll and earn their Oceanography Merit Badge through attendance at one of three classes held on three Saturdays at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. Classes will run 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Scouts must complete one class to earn their Oceanography Merit Badge.

The program gives local scouting youth the opportunity to more deeply explore the ocean that is so integral to the San Diego community. By combining field work, laboratory observation, and scholarly discussion, Oceanography Merit Badge Days at the Maritime Museum of San Diego allow scouts to become fully immersed in the multiple branches of oceanographic research.
