Every spring, Southern California bursts into color at The Flower Fields® at Carlsbad Ranch — a breathtaking 55-acre display of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers overlooking the Pacific coastline. Welcoming more than 200,000 visitors each season, The Flower Fields are a must-see seasonal attraction and an annual rite of spring.
From March 1 through early May 2025, over 70 million flowers will bloom in vibrant, color-coordinated rows, creating the perfect backdrop for family outings, date days, and unforgettable photos.
The Flower Fields span nearly 55 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus, known for their brilliant, double-petaled blooms atop tall, graceful stems. General manager Fred Clarke calls The Flower Fields “a national jewel,” and with more than 85 years of cultivation history, it’s easy to see why. What began in the 1920s with horticulturist Luther Gage has flourished into one of Southern California’s most spectacular seasonal displays — a tradition that continues to delight families, couples, and visitors from around the world.
In addition to the breathtaking blooms, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities and seasonal events:
