With more than 90 bus routes and 53 miles of rail, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is San Diego County's largest provider of public transportation and carries more than 84 million riders a year. Buses and Trolleys serve San Diego's most popular visitor attractions, including Balboa Park, the Convention Center, Seaport Village, the San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Old Town, PETCO Park, Coronado and many beaches. Most downtown and Mission Valley hotels are just steps away from a Trolley station or bus stop. Going car-free is easy with an MTS day pass, available in increments of one, two, three or four days. Day passes are affordable and provide unlimited access on the San Diego Trolley and most bus routes for the entire day.
Buy your day pass at a Trolley station ticket vending machine, on board a bus (one-day passes only), or at The Transit Store at 102 Broadway in downtown San Diego. The Transit Store is open on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To plan your MTS trip, use the trip planner on our website.
