In existence since 1969, the San Diego Padres compete in the National League's Western Division against teams from Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. San Diego's world-famous climate is on display all summer long when the Padres take the field. Located adjacent to the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, a thriving district of shopping, dining, and nightlife, Petco Park brings all the excitement of a Major League Baseball game into a bustling downtown setting.
Once inside the park, visitors can enjoy the nuances of this outdoor ballpark as well as sweeping views of the city. The historic Western Metal Supply Co. building is the signature feature of Petco Park. This historic brick building is actually part of the playing field, doubling as the left-field foul pole. It also houses a team store, suites, restaurant, and rooftop deck.
Kids will love Gallagher Square, an interactive area complete with playground equipment and a wiffle ball field where aspiring heroes can take a swing and run the bases all night long.
