In San Diego, we believe tourism is for all — and that reflecting the diversity of the region and promoting equity and inclusion are crucial to sustaining a thriving tourism industry here. The San Diego Tourism Authority is committed to creating an inclusive destination and workplace where everyone is welcome, valued and empowered to thrive.

Our commitment to this mission is exemplified by the SDTA’s Tourism Accelerator program, which provides marketing support to diverse businesses owned by women, veterans, people of color, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This award-winning program helps businesses achieve greater success and stronger connections with the San Diego tourism community.

In addition, the SDTA’s San Diego Tourism Foundation aims to diversify and strengthen San Diego’s travel and tourism industry through education and training, workforce development, civic engagement and other charitable services.

Tourism is the second-largest segment of San Diego's economy, employing some 214,000 people. It is vitally important to the economic health of the region — and a focus on equity and inclusion helps keep the industry going strong.
