Phil Blair

Phil Blair is one of San Diego’s most visible and respected business leaders. In 1977, Phil started the local Manpower franchise with his best friend, Mel Katz. Today, Manpower West is the largest Manpower franchise in the U.S, the job staffing firm has provided quality employment opportunities for over 2,000 associates every day in its five markets. Manpower provides temporary and permanent employment in IT, Engineering, Finance, advanced Manufacturing and Career Coaching services. The firm’s training programs range from community work readiness for the long term unemployed, out-of-school youth and preparing veterans to enter into the civilian workplace. Phil is a frequently-quoted employment expert and commentator who regularly appears on local and national business media outlets, as well as a professional speaker and career coach on employment and workforce trends. His Amazon best-selling book “Job Won!” is a complete guide to finding and managing a successful career. As an active member of the San Diego community, Phil currently serves on the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board of Directors and is on the board of directors of San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce; San Diego Workforce Partnership and the Del Mar Foundation. He is on the Executive Committee of AMIC (Risk Management) and AMFO Franchise Owner’s Board and several Advisory Committees. Previously, Phil was on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Convention Center (Chair); the American Red Cross, LEAD San Diego (Chair), the United Way (Chair), CONNECT, the Centre City Development Corporation, past President of the San Diego Rotary Club (4th largest in the world), the Tourism Authority, USO (Chair) and the Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
