The San Diego Tourism Authority in partnership with the San Francisco Travel Association received a first-place Poppy Award for Best Cooperative Marketing at the 2020 Visit California Outlook Forum.

In 2019, SDTA teamed up with the San Francisco Travel Association to create a co-op campaign in China, highlighting the links between the two cities and showcasing the unique outdoor, culinary and cultural experiences each destination offers. The “Best of California” Campaign, which boosted awareness of the two destinations by targeting the interests Chinese travelers identified as most important, delivered more than 54 million advertising impressions and won first place in International Marketing at the 2019 U.S. Travel ESTO Destiny Awards

“Collaborating with the San Francisco Travel Association to create an effective advertising campaign was a win for both destinations, and California as a whole,” said Candice Eley, Director of Communications for SDTA. “We look forward to continuing to work with other destinations around the state to continue showcasing everything that makes California such a wonderful place to visit.”

Additionally, SDTA was a finalist for the Best Overall Brand Identity – $8 Million and Up category.
