  • With spring break in full swing, weekly room night demand soared to its highest level seen during the recovery.
  • San Diego County sold 253,442 room nights this last week, roughly 300 more than the previous peak seen during Labor Day weekend last year.
  • Weekday demand surpassed 30,000 room nights sold from Sunday through Thursday, with Friday reaching 44,100 and Saturday nearing 50,000 room nights sold. Saturday night occupancy rose above 80% for several regions in the county.
  • County occupancy averaged 57.3% throughout the week, ranking San Diego 10th among top markets and 3rd in the western competitive set, behind Phoenix 77.7% and Los Angeles 60.3%.
    • Top performing regions were South/East County at 80.1%, Northeast/Escondido at 68.2% and Mission Valley at 59.8%.
  • County ADR was $120 ranking San Diego 7th among top markets and 3rd in the western comp set, behind Phoenix $157 and Los Angeles $126.
    • La Jolla Coastal properties averaged $223 for the week, followed by Mission Bay at $187 and Downtown at $131.
  • RevPAR was $69 ranking San Diego 6th among top markets and 3rd in the comp set, behind Phoenix $122 and Los Angeles $76.
