Liberty Station is proud to feature a public art installation created in collaboration with Retired Navy Chief and acclaimed artist Joe Pisano, supported by the Resurrecting Lives Foundation. Featuring Pisano's work "The Guardian - Wings of Sacrifice," the installation will serve as a visual tribute honoring the U.S. Navy's 250 years of service, courage and sacrifice.
Displayed within the Arts District at Liberty Station, the piece is made from 2,500 military dog tags and other creative materials. The installation will include a commemorative plaque featuring a QR code linking to Liberty Station's signature NTC Alumni Video series, inviting visitors to hear firsthand accounts from veterans who trained on property during its time as the NTC.
Joe Pisano's art exhibition will be in Liberty Station's Command Center, 2640 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106. This piece will be viewable daily: Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
