Get Outside and Experience San Diego

Inspired by @lindzoutside’s time on the ground, this itinerary reflects how the city naturally unfolds—through its water, its energy and the moments you find in between.

San Diego isn’t a destination you rush through. It’s somewhere you fall into a rhythm—one that revolves around sunlight, ocean access and stretching your time outdoors for as long as possible. Plans tend to shift, days open up and what starts as a single activity usually turns into something more.

That’s exactly how @lindzoutside approached her time here. Instead of over-planning, she built her days around movement and curiosity—getting into the water, trying unfamiliar experiences and letting each stop lead naturally to the next. Some moments were fast and adrenaline-driven, others quieter and more scenic, but together they reflected what makes San Diego stand out: it’s not just the variety of things to do, it’s how effortlessly they fit into one another.

Where to Stay

Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

Where: 1441 Quivira Rd, San Diego, CA 92109
Right on the edge of Mission Bay, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina puts you close to where the action actually happens. Early mornings on the water, quick access to activities and enough space to reset in between—it’s the kind of place that supports a full day outdoors without slowing you down. When it’s time to step back, the setting makes it easy to shift gears without leaving the experience behind.

Surfing Lessons with Everyday California
There’s no better way to understand San Diego than getting into the lineup. It’s humbling at first, then addictive. Even a short session changes how you see the coastline for the rest of the trip.

Paddle-boarding with Everyday California
A slower reset. The water feels calm, the coastline stays close and the experience lets you take in your surroundings without rushing through them. It’s less about effort and more about being present.

Start offshore, where the scale of everything shifts. Out on the water, it’s quieter, wider and unpredictable in the best way—whether that means spotting dolphins pacing the boat or catching a glimpse of something bigger passing through.

Jet Skiing with OverWater Mission Bay
Then it flips. Fast, loud, wide open—jet skiing brings a completely different energy to the same environment. It’s the kind of experience that pulls you out of your head and into the moment immediately.

Sunset Cruise with Cruise San Diego
End the day by slowing everything down again. The light softens, the water settles, and the city shifts into the background. It’s an easy pause before heading back in.
