How It All Began | For the Love of Coffee and Culture
Surje Coffee was born out of our founders' shared love for coffee. As coffee is a deeply embedded staple in Valerie's Mexican culture and Christopher's Armenian culture, they both strongly associate it with connection, community, and uplifting experiences. Surje Coffee Co. was created to spread the same love and light to people in our local community.
We began as an online specialty coffee roaster in 2021 before making a few shifts: pop-ups, our own fully-equipped coffee cart, and finally fulfilling our original vision of a physical shop in 2023.
Along the way, we have consistently made moves to serve more of our community in better, healthier ways, including becoming a fully dairy-free and gluten-friendly establishment.
