The University Club Atop Symphony Towers is San Diego’s premier social and business club. Located at the pinnacle of one of downtown’s tallest buildings, The University Club boasts a stunning panoramic view of the downtown skyline. The Club’s luxurious, unparalleled facilities include an immaculate dining room with a panoramic, 360-degree view of beautiful downtown San Diego, as well as several elegant private rooms that are available for business meetings, private events and destination weddings. 

 

1909 Founders’ Room

This is where the community’s leaders gather for the finest in San Diego dining. Designed in the Hollywood Regency style, Frank Sinatra was an inspiration for this room which accommodates up to 70.

Sefton Library

Known as “The War Room” by our Members, the Sefton Library hosts up to 12 for business luncheons and closing deals. It’s an effective work environment where contracts are signed and business gets done. Along with rich wood, upholstered walls and wine lockers, the room contains a portrait of Mr. Thomas W. Sefton, a well-known philanthropist and civic leader. He presided for three decades over one of San Diego’s oldest and largest banks, founded by his grandfather in 1889.

Wine Cellar

Perfect for private wine tastings and dinners.

Laureate Ballroom

One of the crown jewels of the clubhouse, this room offers amazing 360-degree views of San Diego, from Balboa Park and the Pacific Ocean to Coronado and the bridge. It seats up to 180 seated guests or a reception of 250. It’s also the perfect place to celebrate holiday parties, weddings and private events.

Media Room

The Media Room is fully equipped with a 103-inch screen perfect for enjoying exciting games and timeless movies, as well as comfortable seating areas where you can catch up on work after breakfast or lunch. The room features Padres memorabilia and Taylor guitars donated to the Club.

1896 Boardroom

This quintessential boardroom has all the amenities for larger executive meetings with the sophistication and class of a private club. Audiovisual features include a 65-inch videoconferencing unit, omnidirectional microphones and an iPod dock.

Crescendo & Encore Rooms

In these two private meeting rooms that can combine to make one large room, the decor pays homage to the local arts community, from the opera to the symphony. It's perfect for seated dinners with up to 50 guests, or a reception of 65.
