Description

The Persian Cultural Center (PCC) is a nonreligious, nonpolitical and non-profit 501(c)(3) national organization, established in 1989, in San Diego, California.

Mission and Organizational Structure

PCC, known in the community as "Kanoon, " seeks to preserve, promote, and celebrate Iran's ethnically diverse and historically rich culture through education, and the media of performing, literary, and visual arts. In this way the organization creates a sense of identity in future generations of Iranian-Americans, builds community, and furthers cross-cultural understanding.PCC has an all volunteer board driven by passion for cultural enrichment and understanding. The board contains between 7 to 15 members drawn from various professions, age groups, ethnic and economic backgrounds, and a mixture of males and females.The entire membership of PCC elects the board members at the yearly general meeting. Board members serve for three years. The entire board annually appoints executive officers and committee members. The board meets once a month and as needed. Yearly reports are presented to members at the general meeting.
