The mission of the Women's Museum of California is to educate and inspire present and future generations about the experiences and contributions of diverse women by collecting, preserving, and interpreting their stories.
The Women's Museum of California Archive collection in Balboa Park houses nearly 300 linear feet of material documenting the life and work of prominent female leaders and organizations' commitment to women's rights and representation.
The WMC educational space at the Jacobs Center invites students and community groups to participate in interactive workshops centered on the history of the women's movement and the power of grassroots activism. Individuals will walk away with an understanding of how to create positive change in their communities and will have built an appreciation for the women who have pushed for social change to occur.
