Veterans Day Events and Parades

During November, take the time to honor and thank those who have served in the United States armed forces. San Diego offers numerous Veterans Day events, parades, memorials and museums throughout the region.

The U.S. military has played a key role in San Diego's civic life for more than a century. And not only do the armed services continue to be a major presence here — with five major Navy and Marine Corps bases and more than 115,000 active-duty service members in the region — but it's estimated that San Diego is home to more than 230,000 veterans.

So it's only fitting that when Veterans Day arrives each November, the San Diego region hosts numerous events saluting those who have served. From ceremonies at the USS Midway Museum and the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial to a wide range of parades and special museum exhibits, San Diego embraces the honor of commemorating veterans and their families.

Fleet Week San Diego

Veterans and Military Boat Parade

When: November 8, 2025
Salute and honor the courage of active duty and retired service members by participating in or spectating this military-themed boat parade at the San Diego Bay.

Silver Strand Half Marathon, 10 Miler, 12K, and Veteran's Day 5K

This gathering pays fitting tribute to the fortitude and solidarity of WWII veterans, featuring marching bands, historic military displays, vintage vehicles, and familial representations of the heroes who served.
