With the holiday season here, San Diego hotels are offering a variety of packages certain to warm any winter traveler's heart. Available at hotels throughout San Diego County, these packages are loaded with extras or provide great value for guests. 

Over the Top Yuletide Extravagance

The “12 Days of Christmas” package at The US Grant Hotel includes 12 consecutive nights in the historic hotel’s Presidential Suite and offers a different holiday experience each night. From crafting gold rings, attending an award-winning performance of The Nutcracker with Director's Circle tickets, paragliding in tandem off the cliffs of Torrey Pines, creating custom perfume and more, the package rate is $3,500 per night plus tax and fees, with a 12-night minimum stay required. One package can be booked between Dec. 1-30, 2014.

The Grand Del Mar offers “All She Wants for Christmas” and “All He Wants for Christmas”  holiday packages, each offering overnight accommodations and a four-course dinner for two at Addison restaurant (excludes alcoholic beverages and gratuity). Additionally, “Her” package offers select 60-minute spa treatments and a $100 shopping credit per stay for use in The Collection, Spa Boutique or Grand Gifts, while “His” package provides one round of golf at The Grand Golf Club with driver and custom-fitting (upcharge for exotic shaft). Rates start at $1,000 plus tax and are available through Feb. 28, 2015.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines offers a complimentary professional photographer on site by appointment to take family holiday portraits for resort guests on Mondays and Wednesdays from Nov. 24 – Dec. 22. Guests can also take their own photos with Santa Claus and enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus on Dec. 20 and 22 at 4:00 p.m. The Lodge has partnered with La Jolla’s open-air Westfield University Town Center (UTC) mall to offer the “Ultimate Holiday Shopping” package. The package includes a two-night stay, $100 Westfield gift card by American Express, Passport to Savings coupon book, 25% discount at The Lodge’s gift shop Greene’s, chauffeured Audi car service to and from Westfield UTC, and breakfast for two at The Grill at Torrey Pines for both days. Rates start at $379 plus tax and are available through Dec. 31, 2014.

Great Rates for a Holiday Budget

Holiday Inn Bayside’s “Beachin’ Holiday Shopping Getaway” package offers discount shopping passes to Seaport Village and Horton Plaza, holiday cookies and hot cocoa, free parking and 2 p.m. late check-out (subject to availability). Rates start at $109 per night plus tax and are valid through Feb. 5, 2015.

The Bristol Hotel in downtown San Diego offers seasonal savings with a “Value Parking” package this winter. Book by Jan. 31, 2015 for stays through March and take advantage of discounted nightly valet parking and complimentary wi-fi. Rates start at $104 per night plus tax.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront has significantly discounted rates for its “Winter Warm-Up in San Diego”  package that includes free parking and wi-fi, starting at $129 for select dates through Feb. 25, 2015. Guests must book by Dec. 14 to secure these rates.

Hoppy and Historic Holidays

The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego celebrates the season in the hoppiest way possible. The “Stay Crafty, San Diego” package has everything necessary to quench the thirst of true brew aficionados including discounted brewery tours, in-room selection of San Diego's finest craft beers, snacks and a signature mug to keep. Rates start at $159 per nights plus tax; use promo code BEER when booking.

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Skating by the Sea—California’s only beachfront, outdoor ice skating rink—at the Hotel del Coronado. The Del's “ Sea & Skate” package pairs ice skating with the beach by transforming the hotel’s famous Windsor Lawn, just steps from the Pacific Ocean, into a 6,600-square-foot ice rink during the holiday season. Sea & Skate includes overnight accommodations, one ice-skating session (including skate rentals) for two adults and two children, a $25 daily resort credit and a discounted rate of $15 for self-parking. Rates start at $339 per night plus tax and are valid through Jan. 3, 2015.

Available now through Feb. 28, 2015, at the Kona Kai Resort & Marina is the Born to Be Wild  package that includes two tickets to the "Jungle Bells" holiday experience at the San Diego Zoo, a complimentary box of animal crackers and s’mores kit. Rates start at $169 plus tax per night.  The Glorietta Bay Inn at the renowned Spreckels Mansion offers a “Historic Winter in Coronado  package that includes a two-night stay in a deluxe patio/balcony room or bay view room, daily continental breakfast and afternoon hot apple cider and gingersnap cookies. The package also provides a $25 gift card to the Blue Bridge Hospitality Group  for dining at local restaurants, two tickets to the Coronado Historic Walking Tour on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday at 11 a.m., a DVD to keep of Some Like it Hot (the classic Marilyn Monroe movie that was filmed in Coronado), old-fashioned candy, and two nights' parking. The package sells for $395 including tax and is valid Sunday-Thursday (excluding holidays) through Feb. 2015.

New Year’s Eve Savings

Ring in the New Year at Hotel Indigo in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter with a “Room for Two” package that includes Indigo’s NYE party with open bar from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., champagne toast, appetizers from 9-11 p.m., decadent dessert station and party favors. Rates start at $459 on Dec. 31 for two people.

The Grand Del Mar’s “And a Happy New Year”  package includes three nights’ accommodations, New Year’s Eve seven-course dinner for two at Addison (excludes alcoholic beverages and gratuity), complimentary access to The Grand New Year’s Eve Party and a New Year’s Day brunch-in-bed with choice of mimosas or bloody marys for two.
