It is in the best interest of both San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) and its members to adhere to shared values and business practices to ensure visitors to the destination receive world-class service and support. SDTA Members should safeguard the reputation of the destination and promote tourism in a positive and enriching manner. The SDTA Code of Business Practices provides a guideline for Members to support and implement in their daily interactions with visitors.
- PROFESSIONALISM - Consistently honor all commitments, ensuring customer satisfaction through courteous and respectful business practices. Treat customers, employees, and fellow members with integrity and respect. Member advertising should be honest, ethical, and inclusive, reflecting the values of the destination.
- EXCELLENCE - Provide fair pricing and value in quality products and exceptional service. Member services should be best in class, with well-maintained facilities and a professional staff that reflects the destination’s welcoming and diverse spirit.
- RESPONSIVENESS - Resolve complaints fairly and quickly and respond to SDTA requests and inquiries in a timely and cooperative manner. Maintain open channels for feedback and continuous improvement.
- ACCOUNTABILITY - Provide a safe and welcoming destination for all San Diego visitors. Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations and operate transparently and ethically. Members are encouraged to foster inclusive environments and responsibly manage digital and customer data.
The SDTA Code of Business Practices assures that Membership with the San Diego Tourism Authority is protected and enhanced so that all Members may regard their Membership with pride. The San Diego Tourism Authority retains the right to reject or discontinue membership due to unbecoming conduct by a member, non-payment of dues, or for reasons that may be detrimental to San Diego Tourism Authority’s goodwill, reputation, and goals of the organization and its members.
