East Village in San Diego

Downtown San Diego’s largest neighborhood

Encompassing 130 blocks, East Village is bursting with life via its rooftop bars, cafes, boutique shops, galleries, live music venues, luxury hotels and restaurants.

Hotels, Nightlife, Restaurants & Shopping!

The revitalization of this once blighted warehouse district in Downtown San Diego was fueled primarily by the building of PETCO Park, the San Diego Padres state-of-the-art baseball stadium that opened in April 2004. Today, the neighborhood is a cultural hub for eating, drinking, listening and enjoying at that East Village has to offer.

Hotels

  • The 30-story, 1,190-room Hilton San Diego Bayfront, adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center, features a sun-and-sea inspired design that complements its stunning panoramic views of the bay and downtown San Diego.
  • The Andaz San Diego features 159 luxury rooms as well as a rooftop bar, upscale restaurant, wine bar and underground nightclub.
  • The luxury 512-room Omni San Diego Hotel connects to PETCO Park via a pedestrian skywalk and offers stadium views from many of the rooms.
  • The San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter offers 306 luxuriously-appointed guestrooms, many of which look directly into PETCO Park.
  • The 235-room Hotel Solamar San Diego, a Kimpton lifestyle hotel, serves as a "gateway" from the East Village to the historic Gaslamp Quarter.

Nightlife

  • Hotel Solamar's Upper East Bar is a rooftop oasis where sexy singles sip fresh fruit cocktails and lounge by a sparkling pool and roaring fire pits.
  • On the 22nd floor of the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, Altitude Sky Lounge offers guests breathtaking views of PETCO Park and the San Diego waterfront, along with music and martinis.
  • Overlooking the downtown skyline and sparkling San Diego Bay, The Rooftop by STK at Andaz San Diego is a sultry bar and lounge complete with a swimming pool and live DJs spinning music under the stars.

Restaurants

  • Jsix Restaurant in Hotel Solamar focuses on local seafood and farm-fresh ingredients from area growers, including herbs grown on the hotel’s rooftop terrace.
  • Soleil @K San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter serves delicious and innovative cuisine inspired by the culinary styles of California's wine country, Napa Valley.
  • BASIC is an industrial lounge serving New Haven, Connecticut-style thin crust, brick oven pizzas and top-shelf cocktails.
  • Bottega Americano is a lively food hall, bar and restaurant with gourmet eats—think fresh pasta, wood-fired pizzas, salumi bar, housemade pastries and an epicurean market.

Shopping

  • Known for items you can dress up or down, Wild Dove Boutique is filled with high-quality, fashion-forward women’s clothing at reasonable prices.
  • Get your kicks with limited edition sneakers, streetwear & art at Rosewood San Diego.
  • Locally-made, trendy, and creative are the best words to describe the men’s wear for the hip, young man found 5&A Dime.
