National Comedy Theatre is San Diego's longest-running professional improv comedy theatre, entertaining audiences with our unique brand of live, interactive improv comedy since 1999. National Comedy Theatre presents performances featuring professional improvisers who create the entire show live based on audience suggestions.
The show is fast moving, funny and appropriate for a wide range of audiences. Shows are performed Thursday through Sunday evenings at our theatre, conveniently situated between Little Italy and Old Town.
Since opening in 1999, National Comedy Theatre has presented more than 7,000 performances, making it the longest-running show in the history of San Diego.
NCT also offers professionally taught improv classes for adults, from beginner through advanced levels. Classes are taught by experienced NCT improvisers connected to our professional theatre and performing company. Over the past 25+ years, thousands of students of all backgrounds and experience levels have studied improv at NCT.
National Comedy Theatre also presents corporate team building through our WITS Team Building program. We have worked with hundreds of organizations, from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofits.
Additionally, NCT has performed at hundreds of private and corporate events throughout San Diego and across the country. We've entertained companies ranging from Apple to Xerox and toured internationally with Armed Forces Entertainment.
