Getting Here

San Diego by Air

  • Direct from London: Getting to San Diego is a whole lot easier thanks to British Airways' daily nonstop flight from London's Heathrow Airport (LHR) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Via Frankfurt (FRA): Lufthansa flies to San Diego 5 times per week via their Frankfurt hub. Connect via FRA for ease of entry into the US, as the SAN Customs process is much faster than most other US entry points.
  • Connecting Flights: As the 8th largest city in the United States, San Diego is serviced with daily flights from all major domestic hubs including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more.

San Diego via Ground

  • California: San Diego is the perfect place to start or end your American holiday. Los Angeles, ~120 miles north, is easily accessible by car or train with about a two hour travel time. Plan around half a day of ground travel time to San Francisco, ~500 miles north.
  • Mexico: Make your holiday a two-nation vacation by taking a day trip or tour to Tijuana, Via de Guadalupe or Ensenada, Mexico. The International Border is ~20 miles south of Downtown San Diego.
  • Las Vegas: If you're planning on visiting the Las Vegas Strip, ~435 miles northeast, plan around 6 hours of travel time by car.
