The Spirit of the Fourth festivities take place throughout the day at various venues in our community. The Community Fair is held at Webb Park, off Bernardo Center Drive near Webb Lake.
The Spirit of the Fourth Community Fair is a fun and exciting family event that begins at 7:00 AM with the pancake breakfast hosted by St. Michael's and San Rafael Knights of Columbus. The fair officially opens at 9:00 AM with the kick-off for MiniGolf For Good, the wackiest 36-hole miniature golf course you are ever going to encounter, the RBBA's annual Bob Wells Rubber Ducky Race, an array of food, drinks, handicrafts and other items, RB's very own Art Walk, and children's games and activities. Stop by the Information Booth and pick up your Community Fair Passport. Visit the booths indicated on the passport and redeem for a free prize.
This year's pancake breakfast is being hosted by the Knights of Columbus from the local St. Michael's and San Raphael parishes. The price of breakfast is $6 for adults and $4 for children. The event is being sponsored by the Original Pancake House of Poway and Temecula and 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to a great charity, Challenged Athletes Foundation Operation Rebound.
We will be kicking off the breakfast at 6:30 AM with a Flag Ceremony, utilizing a 30' American flag on the front of the building at 16766 Bernardo Center Drive. The breakfast will be set up in the parking lot adjacent to Webb Lake Park and will continue until 10:00 AM, or until we run out of food, whichever comes first. News coverage is anticipated.
MiniGolf for Good
From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, MiniGolf for Good is going to have a 36-hole event at Webb Park in Rancho Bernardo. Join us as we turn this beautiful 27,000 square foot area into the wildest 36-hole miniature golf course you are likely to see this year! The course begins at the Rotary Clock on Bernardo Center Drive along the main route of the Independence Day parade and follows the path into the heart of Webb Park. Tickets for play may be purchased at the Community Fair the day of the event.
Beer Garden and Bike Parking
This year the Community Fair will include a Beer Garden near the site of the Car Show and Pancake Breakfast. It will be open from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM and managed by volunteers from the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. The beer will be provided by the event sponsor, Stone Brewing Company. A 12 oz cup of Stone Pale Ale or IPA will be sold for $5 with proceeds going to support the Bike Coalition and the Spirit of the Fourth. The Bike Coalition will also provide secure valet bicycle parking adjacent to the Beer Garden so leave the car home and ride your bike to the park where it will be guarded until you are ready to ride back home. Donations gratefully accepted.
Wheels of Freedom Classic Motor Show
