The Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon is a winter marathon and half marathon unlike any other, from the ideal weather conditions to a spectacular coastal course. The course goes through Carlsbad Village and along the oceanfront Pacific Coast Highway. Participants will stay motivated with live bands every mile, spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and thousands of spectators and volunteers lining the course.

Each participant gets a technical fabric shirt, goodie bag, finisher's medal and more.

The Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon start and finish at Westfield Plaza Camino Real located at: 2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, with over 6,000 free parking spaces.

Marathon

6:15 a.m. Start Time
Course time limit - 6 hours (13:44-minute-mile pace)*
Entry Limit: 2,000

Half Marathon 

7:45 a.m. Start time
Course time limit - 4.15 hours (19:27-minute-mile pace)*
Entry Limit: 8,000

*All half marathon participants must be able to maintain the specified minute-mile pace or faster throughout the event. Participants who are unable to maintain the required minute-mile pace will be redirected at Carlsbad Boulevard/Hwy 101 and Carlsbad Village Drive to the finish line via an alternate route. The diverted route will be marked and supported, and will equal the appropriate race distance.
