Isabel Sauerbrey is Vice President of Information Technology & Operations at the San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA). As such, she is primarily responsible for providing overall direction and strategic leadership for all information technology and operational initiatives designed to best position the organization to deliver more visitors and meetings and conventions to the destination. Isabel is a highly experienced information technology executive with strong technical and business qualifications and an extensive background in technology strategic planning, business development, capital planning and investment control.

Serving in numerous leadership roles in the information technology and software development sectors over the past three decades, she brings a keen understanding and demonstrated success to the planning, delivery and monitoring of technical solutions that address the needs of SDTA members and clients alike. Isabel is responsible for the implementation and support of the organization’s enterprise applications, enterprise data, research support, user support, infrastructure, communications, and information security.

Prior to joining the Tourism Authority in 2006, Isabel held a number of progressively responsible leadership positions with several technology companies including AST Computer, Rogerson Aircraft Corporation, Motorola Broadband Communication Sector, and General Instruments.

Earning both a BA in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego, she is currently pursuing a certificate in Cybersecurity from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In addition, she serves as a technology and security leadership advisor for Roswell Biotechnologies of San Diego.

Isabel is the recipient of the San Diego Business Journal’s (SDBJ) 2013 Internet Technology Executive of the Year Award and a 2017 finalist for the SDBJ Top Tech Exec Award.
