The La Jolla Half Marathon and Shores 5K is one of America's most picturesque and beautiful point-to-point races.
Starting at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the course follows a scenic coastal route before reaching the challenging climb to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park. After leaving the park, the course rolls atop Torrey Pines mesa, continues down through the residential district of La Jolla Shores, and finishes in Ellen Browning Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove.
The La Jolla Half Marathon is race #2 in the Half Marathon Triple Crown Series.
La Jolla Shores 5K
The La Jolla Shores 5K is a scenic, hilly, point-to-point course that follows the last 3.1 miles of the half marathon course. The race begins on La Jolla Shores Drive near the Scripps Pier and runs through La Jolla Shores and along North Torrey Pines Road, Prospect Avenue and Coast Boulevard before finishing at the La Jolla Cove in the same location as the La Jolla Half Marathon finish. The course will be clearly marked with traffic cones and course guides and except when otherwise directed, participants should run as close to the right hand curb as possible. The course will close to 5K runners and walkers one hour after race start (20-minute-mile pace).
