Behind-the-Scenes Safari

Get a special sneak peek into the secret lives of your favorite wildlife alongside the specialists who care for them, while exploring otherwise off-limits areas with a knowledgeable guide. Enjoy private viewing areas in the "Elephant and Friends" or "Rhino and Friends" behind-the-scenes safaris!

Roar 'n' Snore Safari

Have a sleepover to remember with one of the Safari Park’s Roar ‘n’ Snore adventures. You’ll get to enjoy camp activities, an after-hours look at the wild lives of wildlife, guided walks, s'mores around the campfire, dinner, an evening snack, and breakfast the following morning. And there are numerous tent upgrade options, add-ons and age-appropriate sleepover categories to choose from. Don’t snooze on this one!

Twilight Safari 

As the sun goes down, the Twilight Safari sheds a whole new light on the park’s wildlife. You’ll get to use night-vision devices to witness the animals’ nighttime behavior, while taking in the beautiful surroundings under starlight. Take advantage of the only opportunity to explore the park’s savanna habitats after dark.

Lion Camp 

There’s no animal quite like the king of the jungle. Watch as these lions go through their natural behaviors, romping in the grass, exploring the rocks and resting in the cool shade. Come right up to the large glass panels for some eye-to-eye moments with these majestic animals.

Walkabout Australia 

Take a trip Down Under! Follow the eucalyptus-lined path as you walk among kangaroos and wallabies. You'll also see the large, eye-catching cassowary and the unique and rarely seen platypus.

Behind-the-Scenes Safari: Wild Cat Adventure  

The Safari Park’s wild cats are among its most fascinating inhabitants, and you’ll get to spend the morning visiting them and learning about their lives. The Wild Cat Adventure also offers a look at the park’s wildlife care areas, and a deep dive into current conservation projects, all while you travel in your tour cart with a personal guide.

Tiger Trail 

Follow the Tiger Trail and find yourself deep within the forests of Sumatra, where you’ll encounter the stunning Sumatran tigers. Learn all about these giant cats and watch as they saunter around their habitat—which includes a cooling waterfall.

Africa Tram 

All aboard! This open-air expedition brings you closer to a wide variety of animals throughout the expansive African Plains. Rest your legs as you cover some serious ground and see some amazing animals.

Wildlife Safari: Southwest to the Savanna

An open-air truck takes you deep into the heart of the Safari Park, where you’ll learn how the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance helps wildlife and ecosystems thrive from the American Southwest to the African Savanna. You’ll also explore the 900-acre Biodiversity Reserve, where conservation scientists study and protect the coastal sage scrub habitat and the many species that call it home. And you’ll get to venture into the African savanna habitat for glimpses of giraffes and other amazing wildlife.
