Changing World | Changing People | Changing Times
October 18-21, 2017
Join us in San Diego for a conference designed to support you with stimulating thinking, inspiring insights, expanding skills and renewing commitments—we will work together to explore important questions in our changing world and seek avenues of human connection. Intercultural competence refers to the skills and characteristics that support effective and appropriate interaction in a variety of cultural contexts.
Each of us works to bridge transformations caused by change. The system in which we live—boundaries, borders, nations—has accelerated change enormously, sometimes beyond human tolerance or comprehension. We are all involved somehow in this change: change of society, of organizations, of communities, of one person who wants to learn. And each change often puts into action unpredictable consequences, of which may we know little. Some changes amaze and delight; others, not so much.
In addition to sessions of general intercultural interest, there are three tracks for the 2017 conference:
Crowne Plaza San Diego in Mission Valley

Mission Valley has become one of the most popular regions in San Diego. In fact, Mission Valley offers San Diego’s second largest convention space, a 27-hole championship golf course (Riverwalk Golf Club), two premier shopping malls (Fashion Valley Mall and Mission Valley Mall), upscale restaurants, family-friendly restaurants and movie theatres. Mission Valley is just 10 minutes from San Diego’s major attractions (San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Old Town, Sea World), as well as San Diego’s International airport. In addition to having several stops along the San Diego Trolley line, Mission Valley sits at the crossroads of the county’s main highways and features many affordable options for groups and leisure travelers.
