Arts for Learning San Diego (A4LSD) is the oldest and largest nonprofit in San Diego County solely devoted to arts education. Affiliated with a 30-chapter national network, Young Audiences provides arts education for students preschool through high school, bringing performing, visual and literary arts into young lives.
A4LSD’s depth and variety of artists, represent a cross-section of world cultures. We present 1,500+ programs a year to 66,000+ in 23 school districts across the county. A4LSD's programs uplift, inspire and motivate tens of thousands of students annually. Arts learning - whether a performance by a brass quintet, jazz quartet or storyteller or an after-school artist residency in dance - enriches students academically and socially. Our classroom and after-school artist residencies instill self-discipline and persistence, develop teamwork, build empathy and increase critical thinking skills. Arts performances and workshops stir students to stretch beyond boundaries, reach new heights and turn imagination into reality.
Arts for Learning San Diego envisions a world where all students, families and communities imagine, create and thrive through the arts.
