California Ballet Company
Celebrating 50 Years as San Diego's premier professional classical ballet company! The California Ballet Company's (CBC) mission is to present high quality, professional works and educational opportunities to the community of Southern California, and preserve the classical dance style through maintaining a resident company of professional dancers. California Ballet Company presented its first performance to the San Diego community in 1968 under the directorship of Maxine K. Mahon. With new leadership under Executive Director, Michael Currey and Artistic Director, Jared Nelson, California Ballet Company sets its sights on the next 50 years of serving the community with artistic excellence.
For nearly half a century, California Ballet Company has provided the Southern California Community with access to affordable professional productions of classical ballets, contemporary works, and artistic innovations. Its affiliate school, the California Ballet School, provides many up-and-coming dancers for the company's apprentice program.

Cinderella at the Civic Theatre
California Ballet Company is the resident ballet company of the San Diego Civic Theatre and the Balboa Theatre and the only Nutcracker in San Diego to be accompanied by the San Diego Symphony.
