Founded as San Diego Dance Theater in 1972 by George Willis, Professor Emeritus of Dance at San Diego State University, SDDT has enriched the cultural life of San Diego through countless modern dance concerts and by providing the best in professional training for junior, adult and senior dancers. Local dance icon Jean Isaacs joined the company as Artistic Director in 1997 and her name was added to the logo, bringing a level of modern dance choreographic excellence and artistic integrity to the company that remains unsurpassed in San Diego.
