Whale-watching Eco Voyages to Baja California
A whale-watcher's dream! For the experience of a life-time, sign on to one of our sea-going expeditions to the lagoons of Baja, California, the mating and calving grounds of the California gray whale.
On these nine- to eleven-day trips, explore the wildlife of Mexico's pristine offshore islands and seacoasts. Discover Baja's diverse wildlife. Explore unique and seldom-visited desert seacoasts and offshore islands. Enjoy beachcombing, dune and marsh exploration and participate in the truly fascinating natural world of the California gray whale.
Adventurers from Around the World
Our naturalist-led voyages have drawn adventurers from all corners of this country and as far away as Japan, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and England. Our tours have been the subject of numerous documentaries and have provided the means for research and film teams to explore the Baja area throughout the last two decades.
Pacific Sea Fari® expeditions continue to be designed and operated with a special philosophy in mind: to provide the opportunity to enjoy natural environments and the resources to understand and appreciate the marine wilderness, without harm.
Members of our naturalist staff have been chosen for their ability to guide, entertain and inform. On shore, they will lead informative nature walks, in the evenings present slide and film shows, and in all cases be available to answer any questions you might have about the areas being explored.
Providing many of the comforts of larger cruise expeditions, Pacific SeaFari® expeditions maintain an informal, small-group atmosphere and deliver personal attention and service from a well-trained and experienced crew.
Our smaller expedition size minimizes the impact to the areas we visit and adds to the overall enjoyment in exploring those wilderness areas.
We hope you'll join us this season for a special seagoing adventure. Certain to broaden your understanding of nature, a Pacific Sea Fari® expedition will bring you beauty, relaxation and memories to treasure for a lifetime.
Group charters and group rates are available. Trips can be tailored both in time and itinerary. Published "open party" rates are commissionable to travel agents.
Detailed, descriptive itineraries for each of the trips outlined are available. Listed itineraries are subject to change based on weather and/or other considerations.
Our natural history program was developed by Dr. Theodore J. Walker. Noted author, lecturer and researcher, Dr. Walker led more than 100 trips to Laguna San Ignacio and the surrounding offshore islands. Author of the Whale Primer, he was considered the world's foremost authority on the California gray whale.
