Anna May Wong: Icon of the Silver Screen

he San Diego Chinese Historical Museum proudly welcomes the public to delve into the fascinating world of Anna May Wong, Hollywood’s very first Chinese American movie star.  Born Wong Liu Tsong, her journey from the streets of Los Angeles' Chinatown to international stardom is a testament to her talent, resilience, and dedicated pursuit of breaking barriers.

At the SDCHM, we are holding a limited-run exhibition featuring historical lobby cards from the Dwight M. Cleveland collection that provide a glimpse into Anna May Wong’s unparalleled Hollywood career.  It opens to the public at our Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Extension on Friday, March 1st, and runs through Sunday, March 10th.  Please see https://sdchm.org/ for more details.
