Join us for Legacy Week at the USS Midway Museum, the centerpiece of Memorial Day celebrations in San Diego. Legacy Week is a heartfelt tribute to our military's valor and sacrifices, offering a series of events designed for everyone to experience the spirit of honor, remembrance, and celebration. From the exhilarating Top Gun Maverick Party & Movie Night and exclusive encounters with aviators with their aircraft to a solemn Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony, Legacy Week encapsulates the essence of Memorial Day weekend.

Award-winning trumpeter Curtis Taylor’s lyrical and melodic improvisational style displays a level of maturity far beyond his years. His unique blend of soulfulness, harmonic sensibilities and rhythm melt together for an unforgettable sound that directly connects with the soul of the listener. We will explore the works of Niki de Saint Phalle, Ana Mendieta, and many others as we strengthen our bonds within our neighborhoods!

This exciting week will be filled with community-building and learning how art helps us connect.
Create portraits of your new friends, tell stories of your community through your art, design flyers and posters, and work together on chalk murals.

On the second Sunday of every month, the museum offers free admission to all visitors. No reservations are required for Second Sunday admission. 
From 10AM - 1PM, join us for Play Day. 
Play Day also features a live DJ, book nook, free play area, and a kid friendly Gallery Guide-led tour at 10AM. 
From 10AM – 4PM, explore The Collection Galleries, The Sculpture Garden, and our special exhibition: Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today.
