The Coronado Historical Association invites you and your family to join us for the final installment of the 2024 Wine & Lecture Series: Holiday Traditions at the Hotel del Coronado. Bring the whole family to experience the magic of the Hotel del Coronado’s holiday history with CHA’s Vice President, Robin Siara. For 135 years, the Hotel Del has brought holiday cheer to locals and visitors alike with enchanting events. From the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas tree and charming Victorian teas to today’s Skating by the Sea, these traditions have always dazzled and delighted. Come celebrate with us as we journey back in time to enjoy the holiday heritage of our island’s historic treasure.

Festive refreshments along with wine for adults will be served.

Jingle Jets provides visitors with a holiday-themed experience throughout the USS Midway Museum’s flight deck, hangar deck and 2nd deck to include an extensive and spectacular holiday lights displays, holiday decorations, Christmas trees, and Santa Claus meet & greet to create a shipboard winter wonderland.  The experience will also include carolers, holiday music DJ and dance floor, seasonal culinary items and merchandise, opportunity to write letters to military service members, and various photo and interaction opportunities. Jingle Jets will run on 21 selective nights from Nov. 22 to Dec. 23, 2024.

Restorative yoga sessions are held weekly at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at the Museum of Us. All are welcome, regardless of physical ability, age, or yoga experience. Classes are held in the Museum’s historic rotunda by yoga instructor, Lunita Velásquez. The evening classes promote relaxation and restoration by strengthening the mind-body connection with deep stretching, breathwork, and a welcoming space. 

Waterfront Playground Experience with Pirates. The perfect treat for out-of-town visitors and locals alike! These popular 90-minute performances are staged aboard the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s 16th-century Spanish galleon San Salvador. Guests will be fully engaged in pirate theatrics at the dock and underway on San Diego Bay. This hilarious interactive show puts visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills. 

General admission included, making the experience an excellent value and opportunity to explore the waterfront museum fleet and exhibits before or after your Boarded experience. Choose from two shows at 10:30 a.m. or 12:45 p.m.
