The San Diego Women's Chorus is a non-auditioned, lesbian-allied feminist community chorus that welcomes all women who love to sing. For 25 years, SDWC has been creating quality music and fostering a place for women to share their voices through song. Through musical expression the San Diego Women's Chorus encourages women's creativity, celebrates diversity and inspires social action. The chorus has grown from a group of women who gathered in members' homes in 1987, to a talented and diverse chorus of over 70 women. SDWC members are dedicated to fostering women's voices through music and is committed to performing songs of peace, human dignity, love, cultural diversity, and the celebration of all women. The members of SDWC are people with a strong sense of social conscience who work to entertain, educate, and inspire our communities.
The volunteer singers of SDWC produce two full-length concerts, participate in numerous outreach activities, and perform at various community and private events each year. The San Diego Women's Chorus is committed using the power of women and the power of music to entertain and inspire audiences as well positively change the world we live in. The San Diego Women's Chorus is a proud member of GALA (Gay & Lesbian Association of Choruses) and the Sister Singers Network of Feminist Choruses.
